Chinese Visa

Tomorrow I have to turn in my paperwork to get my Chinese entry visa. Unfortunately, that meant I had to once again visit Walgreens and suffer from the sub-par service they seem to always exhibit at that one particular location (Murray and Scholls in Beaverton for all of you who'd like to avoid the multiple fiascoes I've endured there). I had to get another set of passport photos made up so I could turn one in with my paperwork. Yes, I already had a spare from when I originally applied for my passport, but the lady who took that application stapled it. I don't want to risk having everything rejected because of staple holes.

I'm almost in Asia!

Even closer now

The trip is so close now I can almost taste it. Well, feel it. OK, both of those statements are kind of strange (you can't taste or feel a trip in the first place). But I'm really anxious for the trip anyway. It's exciting to know that inside of two whole months I will be getting on a plane for a multiple hour flight over the Pacific Ocean.

Things seem even more real now that our director has finally asked for our Passports so he can get our Chinese visas. It means that, at this point, the trip will happen and I'll really be going to Asia. Just think, a real trip abroad for the FIRST TIME EVER! Wouldn't you be excited?

Does anyone have any suggestions for locations to visit while I'm there? I'll be travelling to Tokyo, Beijing, and Shanghai. I've never been to any of those cities and only ever researched Tokyo. Any and almost all suggestions for places to visit, enjoy, photograph, or just see will be GREATLY appreciated!

New Years Resolutions

Who would've thought that it would be 2007 so soon? I hope everyone else had just as much fun ringing in the new year as I did; it was a blast here in Eugene. Since it's now January, and a new year, I decided some resolutions were in order. The following is a highly abridged draft version of my resolutions for 2007, in no particular order:

Health-related:

  1. No soda (excluding root beer) until March.
  2. At least two well-balanced meals per day.
  3. Drink more juice.
  4. Eat out no more than 4 meals per week.
  5. Climb at least 30 minutes 3 times each week.

Other:
  1. Write creatively at least 30 minutes each day.
  2. Read at least 2 books each month ("recreational reading").
  3. Keep my personal living space completely clean (needing to be re-cleaned less than once a month).
  4. Update at least one of my blogs at least every other day.

There are most likely others, but they are either private, no currently on my mind, or I just don't care enough to divulge them at this time. I hope the rest of you have some good resolutions for the year. Let's cross our fingers that we can all keep those resolutions as long as possible.
